My Dad Drained My $224,000 College Fund at My 18th Birthday Dinner… Then I Showed Him One Bank Statement

At my eighteenth birthday dinner, in front of thirty-two relatives, my father stood up, raised his glass, and casually dropped a bomb: ""We drained your $224,000 college fund last year to save your brother's marriage. At my eighteenth birthday dinner, held at a crowded Italian restaurant in downtown Dallas, thirty-two members of my extended family gathered around three long, pushed-together tables.

The air smelled of garlic butter and expensive wine, and birthday balloons tied to my chair bounced gently against the ceiling.

My heart gave an uneasy thud as my father flashed a cold, indifferent smirk that didn't reach his eyes.

Without a single trace of hesitation or remorse, he dropped a massive bombshell that silenced the entire room instantly.

He looked straight at me and announced that they had completely drained my two hundred and twenty-four thousand dollar college fund last year to pay off Brandon’s massive legal debts and save his failing marriage.

Before I could even process the words, my mother actually started clapping, smiling proudly as if they had just accomplished some great humanitarian feat.

My father crossed his arms, staring down at me like an annoying insect, and uttered the cruel words that made my blood run ice-cold: We drained your entire future to fix your brother's mess. Deal with it. To be continued in C0mment https://tempo.treeiq.biz/blog/my-dad-drained-my-224-000-college-fund-at-my-18th-birthday-dinner-then-i-showed-him-one-bank-statement
