The Mob Boss Found His Maid Bleeding in His Bathroom—Then He Saw Her BackThe billionaire mob boss expected to find an empty bathroom. Instead, he found his maid bleeding on the marble floor. Harper froze. Her uniform was half-zipped. A bloody cloth lay beside her foot. And across her back were bruises in every stage of healing. Purple. Yellow. Green. Some fresh. Some old. All of them hidden. Gabriel Ashford had seen violence before. He had built an empire in a city where fear was currency. But this was different. Because when he quietly asked, “Who did this to you?” Harper’s face went white. She pulled her uniform closed and whispered: “No one.” Gabriel looked at the bruises again. Then at the blood on his floor. Then back at her. “Don’t lie to me.” Her eyes filled with tears. “My husband is a cop.” That answer changed everything. Because Derek Lawson wasn’t just an abusive husband. He wore a badge. He had friends inside the department. And he believed that meant nobody could touch him. What Derek didn’t know was that the woman he had terrorized for years had just been discovered by the one man in Boston even corrupt cops were afraid to cross. But Gabriel was about to learn something even darker. Derek wasn’t only looking for Harper. He was looking for her eight-year-old brother too. And by sunrise… someone was going to make the first move. 👇 **Full story in the comments.** #reels #viral #storytime #mafiastory #familydrama #usa #fyp #trending / Chapter 9 / 20

Chapter 9 - The New Suspect

By noon, Gabriel Ashford's face covered every local news channel.

BILLIONAIRE SOUGHT IN WATERFRONT MURDER.

The planted gun tied him to Samuel Pike, an accountant who had worked for Vincent Hale and vanished before he could meet Gabriel.

"This isn't just Derek," Harper said. "Someone inside evidence storage helped him."

They hid inside a South Boston church run by Father Dominic Reyes.

Federal prosecutor Maya Brooks arrived an hour later. She looked at Gabriel with open dislike.

"I've tried to indict you twice."

"I remember."

She turned to Harper. "If I take the drive, I can't promise everyone involved is clean."

"Can you promise you'll use it?"

"Yes."

Harper handed her a copy. "The original stays with me."

Maya almost smiled. "Smart."

Then the television switched to breaking news.

A reporter stood outside Precinct 12.

"Officer Derek Lawson has been shot in what police call a targeted attack. Lawson reportedly named Gabriel Ashford as the shooter before losing consciousness."

Everyone turned toward Gabriel.

Father Reyes offered Noah cereal in the church kitchen while adults discussed murder twenty feet away. Harper hated how quickly danger had become normal to him. She watched Gabriel kneel to ask Noah whether he wanted the television changed, and Noah said yes. Gabriel changed it. Such a tiny thing, yet Harper noticed the absence of argument. Later, Maya warned Gabriel that helping the investigation would not buy immunity for his own crimes. "Good," Harper said before he could answer. Gabriel glanced at her and nodded. If he expected to stand beside her, she decided, he would have to face the same daylight he wanted for Derek.

Harper stared at Derek's photograph.

Maya photographed the original drive, sealed copies, and wrote down every hand that touched them. Harper watched carefully. Procedure, used correctly, could protect truth instead of bury it.
