Chapter 14 - The Birth Plan

Sienna struck Daniel before Nico could stop her.

One open-handed slap.

Sharp. Clean. Final.

Daniel touched his cheek, stunned.

"You helped plan to take my children."

"I didn't know how far Gavin would go."

"You knew enough."

"Mrs. Cole, I need you to sit down."

"No. I need him to answer."

"Answer her," Nico said.

Elaine would enter the hospital as contract staff.

After delivery, she would alter Sienna's medication chart and create confusion about her mental state.

Gavin would present the forged power of attorney and medical authorization.

A private ambulance company connected to Raymond would transfer Sienna to a "recovery facility" in upstate New York.

No one had yet found a legitimate facility booked under her name.

"For how long?" Sienna asked.

Daniel shook his head. "I don't know."

"You do."

"I don't."

"Then tell us what you do know."

"Gavin needed time to move the trust assets and complete the sale of the shell companies. Once the money cleared, he was going to accuse Sienna of stealing from Ferrante Group."

"And me?" Nico asked.

"You would be too busy defending your company and trying to keep your daughter out of prison."

"He was going to destroy my father with me."

"We found Raymond."

"Where?" Nico asked.

"Motel outside Syracuse. He's in custody."

Park looked at him. "Your timing is bad. Raymond is already asking for a deal."

"Gavin kept the originals."

"Where?"

"A storage unit under Sabrina's name."

"Address?"

Within two hours, police opened the unit.

Inside were stacks of invoices, forged identity documents, prepaid phones, hospital uniforms, and a portable scanner.

They also found three packed suitcases.

Sienna stared at the evidence photographs.

The baby suitcase contained diapers, bottles, tiny blue sleepers, and a passport application with the name left blank.

"He packed for my son before he was even born," she whispered.

Park turned to the final photograph.

A white envelope had been taped inside the suitcase.

Inside was a signed statement accusing Nico Ferrante of sexual harassment, bribery, and financial coercion.

It showed Nico handing an envelope of cash to a city building inspector.

Nico's face changed.

"That picture is twenty years old."

Park looked at him.

"Is it real?"

May you like

Nico did not answer immediately.

And for the first time since the garage, Sienna looked afraid of her father too.
